Municipal Conservation Incentive Process
- Customer must have an audit to qualify for incentive.
- Eligible measures determined (see major measures listed above).
- Customer selects and hires contractor.
- Once work is completed, an inspection is required. Contact the auditor or the HELPS toll-free line to schedule the inspection.
- If the inspector approves the measures, the customer and inspector will sign off on the inspection form which will be forwarded to light department for approval. If the work done fails, the contractor is contacted and is required to bring the work up to standard.
- Customer should be sure to retain a final payment to a contractor until after the inspection to ensure they will make any changes to their work.
- Municipal light department provides rebate to customer, either through its own internal program, or through the HELPS program.
